We are a small family run concern including a self catering cottage
and bed and breakfast in our own cottage. We are able to give that
personal touch and are on hand within the village to assist with any
help you might need. We are situated in the glorious north east of
Scotland on the lovely Moray firth coast peppered with quaint
coastal hamlets, coves, ruined castles and beautiful secret picnic
spots.

The Harbour Pennan

Pennan is famous for the film 'Local Hero' starring Burt Lancaster-
made in 1982 in this picturesque seaside village. Nestled at the
foot of imposing cliffs away from main roads and the bustle of
everyday life, the tiny village  is quiet, peaceful and romantic. Sit out
on a summers evening with a glass of wine and watch the setting
sun, or get up early with a cup of coffee to see the rising sun-
breathtaking.

Seals and dolphins often frequent the local waters, and  boat trips
can be arranged to see them more closely. There is also an
abundance of sea birds and wildlife. Refreshing walks along the
beaches or along the cliffs, as well as secluded beaches and
hidden coves make Pennan a unique getaway.

Things to do include sea fishing, golf on several excellent  courses
within a 10 mile radius, Horse riding, visiting museums, stately
homes, castles or the whiskey trail, to try some of our famous
whiskeys and to see how they are made. Or you can just take it
easy, relax and sit and  listen to the calming effect of the sea, read
that book you have meant to read or sketch our beautiful coast line.

The Pitsligo Hotel is a short drive away and  has wonderful home
cooked food, mouth watering menu. If you dont fancy driving we
have a very reasonably priced local taxi service.

The nearest paper/Spar shop is 2 miles away at the coastal village
of Gardenstown, along with a pub, a bakery for your hot crispy
bread and pies, a butchers, also a post office and doctors surgery.
Come and relax in Pennan, it really is just 'Heaven on Earth'.
